I-95 Northbound Rappahannock River Crossing

The I-95 northbound Rappahannock River Crossing project seeks to reduce northbound I-95 congestion between the Exit 130/Route 3 interchange in Fredericksburg and the Exit 133/Route 17 interchange in Stafford County. Although this project is still under design, most of the project’s features are anticipated to be built between Exit 130 and Exit 133.

  • Est. construction start date: Late 2020 - Early 2021
  • Estimated completion date: Spring 2024

The Virginia Department of Transportation has several projects underway designed to unlock gridlock on Interstate 95 in Fredericksburg.
